My best experience

During this wonderful trip in Australia, my best experience was a weekend excursion to Point Lookout, on Stradbroke Island. When we arrived in this almost wild island on Friday evening, it was unfortunately raining a lot (in France, we will call that a storm). I was impressed by the size of the waves; they were gigantic. Luckily, we ate under-cover in a nice French restaurant. Later, we were in a beautiful hotel with a view over the sea.

The next day, on Saturday, it was still raining, but a lot less, so I could try bodyboarding for the first time on the beach in front of the hotel, called Main Beach. It was a really great experience! Unfortunately, we had to stop because the life savers closed the beach. Nevertheless, the rain didn’t dissuade us to do a little walk on a path by the sea. The waves smashing against the rocks was wonderful. Then, we went back to the hotel and we had a little rest, looking at the sea. At some point, I caught sight of a shape between the trees in the garden. I woke up to see what it was. In fact, it was three grey kangaroos eating some grass. It was the first time I had seen kangaroos outside of a zoo; they were totally wild! Even though I knew they could be dangerous, I approached them to take some photos. After that event, we spent the evening in the apartment.

The day after, on Sunday, it was finally sunny, so we went back to the beach, after we went to breakfast at the same restaurant we went to on Friday. The atmosphere was totally different, there was a lot of surfers around us. In the afternoon, we sadly had to leave this lovely place by ferry. Stepping back onto the solid land of Brisbane brings our adventure to a close
